Jeffrey Sustersic,
I’ve made more than my share of mistakes. I’ve had more help in my life than I ever understood in the moment. Looking back, I can see how many people showed up—some stayed, some drifted out of my life—and I didn’t always see clearly how much they were doing for me. I’ve failed more than I’ve succeeded, lost more than I’ve won, and yet I’ve been carried by grace far more than by my own strength.
My name is Jeffrey Sustersic, founder of Medina Adventure Company in Medina County, Ohio. My life, and this business, are shaped by faith, family, the lessons of personal failures, and a quiet calling to help people slow down and find meaning in God’s creation. After decades in the automotive world, I hit a point where outward success didn’t line up with inner peace.
In a moment when life had me on my knees, I prayed for God to just take it all away. His answer surprised me as it wasn't anything I was expecting nor wanted to hear. His word cut through my thoughts and seared itself into my heart; "acknowledge me in all your ways and I will make your paths straight"
It was then that God started pruning me, taking away the things I could never seem to let go of myself. Through prayer and reflection, I felt God nudging me toward a new path—one rooted in purpose, rest, and reconnection. That’s how Medina Adventure Company began. Not from ambition, but from a desire to restore what matters most.
I believe God owns it all: every sunrise, every trail, every RV or tent that becomes the backdrop of a family memory. My role is simply to steward what He’s given me and to serve others as best I can.
The heartbeat of this company still comes from my late wife, Erin. Her love, kindness, and steady spirit shaped the best parts of my life. Even now, her influence guides the mission behind everything we do. Her joy lives on in every campsite set, every family we help reconnect, every moment of peace we try to create.
But the story doesn’t end there. God has used many others along the way—people who came into my life for a season, people I overlooked or didn’t fully appreciate at the time, people who lifted me up when I wasn’t even aware I needed lifting. Their fingerprints are on this journey too.
And then there are those He unmistakably places in our path—people like Julie, whose steadfast love, support, and enormous help have carried this vision, and me, farther than I ever could alone. Her commitment has been a blessing I didn’t expect but one I thank God for constantly.
In the end, Medina Adventure Company is built not just on gear or rentals or retail store, but on grace… on the quiet strength of those who show up… and on the gift of the people God places along our journey.
May we all learn to see them more clearly. That is the mission of Medina Adventure Company.
